Additional Information

So travels the Moon was commissioned by the spnm for a project during the 2006/7 season as part of the Cheltenham Festival. The first performance was given on Monday 9 July 2007 by the Soloists of the Wells Cathedral School conducted by Philip Dukes in the Pittville Pumproom, Cheltenham. The title “So travels the Moon” is a translation of the Latin inscription, Sic peragrat Phoebe that appears on the face of the famous 14th century clock in Wells Cathedral. The work is my reaction to that motto.
