Biography
Paul is a multi-genre English composer and performer of electronic and acoustic music. His work is primarily classical, with an electronic edge and has been compared to artists such as; Michael Nyman, Wim Mertens, Philip Glass, Yann Tierson and Jean Michel Jarre. He loves expression, passion & honesty, and has always aimed to write music that speaks for itself.
Musical Beginnings
Coming from rural Burnham, Bucks, his personal journey through music started at a relatively late age. Paul completed the first year of a degree in Physics & Philosophy whilst in his spare time was teaching himself the guitar and keyboard as well as writing songs and poetry.
Education
In 2001 he read for a degree in music at Christ Church University, based on a successful audition. He had two inspirational piano teachers, Dr Kim Burwell and Lord Gawain Douglas. He was also mentored and taught composition by Dr Paul Max Edlin, and visiting Professor Paul Patterson of RCM
Musical development
To date he has performed at the Royal Albert Hall, the 3Arena, on BBC 1, on SKYnews, and around the world in various theatres, festivals and clubs. He has also had pieces performed in churches, concerts, festivals and cathedrals nationwide.
