Biography

Radikal Queen is Tyneside’s premier Black spoken word artist and blues poet. She has a global background of community-based collaborative work within festivals, schools, carnivals and touring productions. She is a cultural activist who uses words that dance to original Black music to speak with people from all over the world via her ethos: bringing the margins to the centre. Radikal Queen’s ambassadorial brief from her Elders tasks her to develop sustained global, cultural links with Indigenous and marginalised communities. This has led to her initiation within Indigenous musical traditions in Africa, the Diaspora, and the Americas.
