Additional Information
Single Form (Sarabande) is a dance of light and colour, like the reflections of water on the underside of a bridge or the dappled light that falls through leaves on a late summer evening.
Written in response to the Sarabandes in J S Bach’s Cello Suites, the piece contains at its core four simple melodic phrases which are constantly being revealed or obscured. Melodies seem to appear out of nowhere in front of you before dissipating again in a shimmering haze. Nothing is ever quite the same and yet it feels as though we’ve been here before.
