Additional Information
The title of this piece is a pseudo-Arabic word of doubtful origin from which the word 'almanac' originates. The piece presents a sequence of chords arbitrarily derived from an extract of Strindberg text (On Chance in Artistic Creation, translated by Kjersti Board).
Whilst working on the piece, I was reading Joris-Karl Huysmans' À rebours (sometimes subtitled "A Novel Without a Plot") large swathes of which are given over to minutely cataloguing the rarefied tastes of the eccentric protagonist including perfumes, theologians and jewels (with which he fatally encrusts the shell of his tortoise)
