Additional Information

The music has been influenced by many sounds and landscapes from around the North of England and the music has taken over a year to produce.  The work is written for eight percussionists, split into two distinct ensembles, and two conductors playing over 60 instruments and has 37 movements.  The drum kit is the important instrument in the composition and the featured soloist for the first performance was Peter Fairclough with the Mixed Metals Percussion Ensemble performing the other parts.

The audience play an important part in the format and sequence of the music, they are asked to choose the starting points for each of the ensembles allowing for 1000s of different variations to the sound of the work and no two performances could be the same.
