Don’t Throw Up On Window Sills (formerly entitled All Over Now Fleur)

Musical performance for six singers (and chamber ensemble in full version). 4 minutes, 2002.

An Internet gardening chat group text, celebrating the return of a missing cat, set to music for six vocalists. The performance itself depends on a subtle real-time relationship between performers, in contrast to the pseudonymous, indirect relationships in the initial dialogue itself, which is also imbued with the melancholy of obsolescence (the chat-room fad itself, which is all but extinct) and the sense of a time when internet interactions were new, and good natured communication was the norm.
