An operatic adaptation of David Jones' World War One epic poem of the same name.

Commissioned by the Nicholas John Trust With 14-18 NOW, WW1 Centenary Art Commissions, supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund. Libretto by David Antrobus and Emma Jenkins-Hunt.

First performance at Welsh National Opera, Wales Millennium Centre with subsequent performances at Birmingham Hippodrome and the Royal Opera House in a production by David Pountney, conducted by Carlo Rizzi.

Premiere cast includes Andrew Bidlack, Alexandra Deshorties, Peter Coleman-Wright, George Humphreys, Mark Lebrocq, Marcus Farnsworth, Donald Maxwell, Graham Clark.
