Additional Information
At the start of 2020, the world struggled with the COVID-19 Coronavirus. We were suddenly unable to leave our homes, and our 'normalacy' was replaced by a wide-spread fear and insecurity over what will happen next.
The idea behind this music was to see whether you could create chamber music from a distance - whether collaboration was possible, even with the strict lockdown measures in place. Behind a gentle pulse of piano chords, the music is built on small, repeated fragments and cells of music from talented musicians spread out far and wide. These musical fragments were improvised around, and recorded in isolation, without hearing what other people had come up with. It contains instruments ranging from an Accordion to an Oud, and the result is a gentle, shimmering exploration of the artistry of these musicians.
