A chamber oratorio in four movements for SATB soloists, chamber choir and 13-piece ensemble.

Libretto by the composer selected from the telling of the Passion as related in the Gospel of Mark, and from ten poets of the First World War: Edmund Blunden, Robert Graves, Julian Grenfell, Ivor Gurney, Wilfred Owen, Herbert Read, Isaac Rosenberg, Siegfried Sassoon, Charles Sorley, and Edward Thomas.

Begun under the auspices of a Finzi Scholarship from the Finzi Trust and subsequently commissioned by the Three Choirs Festival. 

First performance: Three Choirs Festival, 24 July 2016, performed by the St. Cecilia Singers, Bristol Ensemble, cond. Jonathan Hope.
