Cradle of Gems is part of a collection of thirteen short pieces for solo piano called Seasons of Light, Songs of Joy and Contemplation. It is a lullaby, its gentle rocking motion expressing a mother's wonder, awe and nurturing love for her new born child. On a spiritual level it is a meditation on the radiant light of the incarnate Soul.
