Leo Chadburn - The Indistinguishables (2014)

Additional Information

Written for the Bozzini Quartet and premiered by them at the 2014 Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (HCMF//) in the revised version.

The piece works through a cycle of seventy names of UK moth species, each accompanied by a chord or phrase, like a fleeting soundtrack to these evocative words. The recordings are triggered by the quartet, so the pacing of the pauses and resonances is under their control, part of their ensemble dynamic.
