This setting of Housman's Loveliest of Trees was published in 1923 by Augener, after Muriel had met with them at their offices, accompanied by Roger Quilter. The exact date of composition is unknown, but the work was performed by Muriel in a concert broadcasted on the 2.LO radio on 2 April 1931, and again in the same circumstances on 5 July 1938. The work has since been republished by BiblioFox Music Publishing in 2014, and recorded by James Gilchrist and David Owen Norris.
