MS. Of Benedictbeuren (Carmina Burana)

Additional Information

Originally written by MS of Benedictbeuern, and here translated by Helen Waddell, the text of So by my singing am I comforted is perhaps better known as Carmina Burana. Muriel's setting of this text was composed in 1934, and is inspired by the text's medieval origins. The work was not published during Muriel's lifetime, but was performed by the composer in a concert broadcasted on 2.LO on 5 July 1938. The song has since been published by BiblioFox Music Publishing, and recorded by James Gilchrist and David Owen Norris.
