Noise Pollution I

Additional Information

Noise Pollution I is inspired by church bells. In my home town they still practise bell ringing on a Thursday night. The fascinating sound of the bells and the inexactness of the pitches and rhythm inspired me to write this piece. At the end a “muezzin” melody is heard in the violin, to be continued in Noise Pollution II. Bells are quite loud, but we don’t seem to complain much about them. What is noise pollution?
