Additional Information

For trumpet and pipe organ (score and parts available for Bb and C trumpets).

Salve Festa Dies (Hail Thee, Festival Day) takes its title from Vaughan Williams’ setting of Venantius Fortunatus’ Latin text. It was commissioned by the University of Reading’s (UK) School of Law for their 2003 Graduation Ceremony, which took place in the presence of Her Excellency Dame Rosalyn Higgins, DBE, QC, President of the International Court of Justice (1995-2009). The original work was written as a ceremonial procession and recession. The 2018 expansion of the work was created for Italian trumpeter, Ivano Ascari. Subtitled Fanfare for Justice in honor of Dame Rosalyn Higgins, the expanded work enables it to be performed as a concert work.
