Additional Information

Commissioned by Benjamin Frith (winner of the NFMS award for young concert artists 1983) and premiered in Wigmore Hall in 1984 with more than 30 subsequent performances. The work is a musical reinterpretation of material from my opera Belisa. Composed in four sections, the first is toccato-like, the second a kind of distant waltz, the third a scherzo and the fourth slow and sustained.
