Solipsism for solo alto saxophone was written for Nick Turner in 1984. I have attempted to suggest an interplay between a series of characters, all distinct, but all aspects of the same persona. The piece falls into three short sections: a frame formed by two slow movements and a central scherzando which acts as a kind of development.
