The tape part consists of nine segments generated by a fractal algorithm which collectively form a musical voice within the orchestra.

The recursive algorithm is NewX=Y-SquareRoot(BX-C); NewY=A-X; X=NewX; Y=NewY. The choice of opening values for A, B and C significantly affects the character of the output from the program.
