My Second Symphony - Sinfonia Civitatis - was written in Bristol in 1969 while I was a member of the BBC Training Orchestra. It is dedicated to Fr Robert Stretton SSM, a close friend of long-standing.
It is in three movements, played without a break: Panorama. - Nocturne - Virtute et Industria.
It received its world premiere at the Royal College of Music on 23rd November 1975 by the London Repertoire Orchestra conducted by Dr Ruth Gipps MBE.
